The upcoming four-part Beatles biopics, directed by Sam Mendes and set to premiere in April 2028, have revealed its cast of actors portraying the band members’ wives: Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey. “Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right – and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” Mendes said in a statement. The films will also star Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison) as the four Beatles, with each film focusing on one member’s perspective to collectively tell the band’s full story. This marks the first authorized scripted portrayal of the Beatles’ lives and music, with Sony Pictures financing and distributing the project in partnership with Apple Corps Ltd. (Billboard)
